How we work

Lantern Facilities operates using a contractor model.

All cleaners work with us on a self-employed basis, either as:

  • Sole traders

  • Limited companies

You are responsible for managing your own:

  • Tax

  • National Insurance

  • Business compliance

This model offers flexibility and independence while working with a growing, professional service provider.

Practical requirements

  • Full UK driving licence (preferred)

  • Access to a reliable vehicle to attend jobs

  • Ability to travel between locations where required

Compliance & safety

We expect all contractors to work safely and responsibly.

  • Awareness of cleaning chemicals and safe usage (COSHH awareness preferred)

  • Ability to follow safe working practices

  • Use of appropriate materials and equipment

Background checks

Depending on the type of work, we may require:

  • Standard DBS check

  • Enhanced DBS check

This is particularly relevant for roles involving:

  • Private homes

  • Vulnerable individuals

  • Sensitive environments

References

All applicants should be able to provide:

  • At least one reference from previous work

  • Ideally cleaning-related or service-based roles
